Here We Went Again

Oh Lawdy ! So I think we left you in St Louis, right? We had a hell of a good time on the last tour featuring boat rides with our pal Mike Demsey in Osh Kosh after playing Water Fest and a lovely day in the park courtesy of our buddy Jac Gruenwald in Rippon Wisconsin! Cookies and a sweet summer afternoon! Thanks Jac and Co!! Off to Grand Marais and a stay in a cabin on the lake and s’mores with our friend Jane at her house concert! Ghost busting, hot dishes (thank you flower girl) and geo collecting to end our stay, no Northern lights sadly but there is always next time!!! Thenit was off to St Louis with the Henneman of Hennemans for a great night of guitar magic and making the music for some old and new friends (don’t like the word fan) a fort night with the Woods then HOME!
Which brings us to now!….lets see, it was Montgomery, Great to see the cousins and played a wonderful venue The Capitol Oyster Bar. Then off to Alpharetta for one of our very best friend, Brian O’ Reilly’s double nickel birthday party/house concert at Smoke Jack! As Brian said, you know it was a great party on Friday if there still talkin about it on Sunday!…..Ok, next up off to our other good friends, Mark and Michelle’s casa for her birthday concert….oh, forgot to mention, on this current run we had the great lagniappe of having another best friend Janson Lohmeyer along on keyboard, harmony and fantastic gossip time for him and me and best friend boy time for he and Russ! Extra special non surprise of Nathan and Nancy in tow at this party featuring a drum clinic for Nancy that was funner to watch than Toddlers In Tiaras! Nancy can be very focused when she wants to be and Russ is a very good teacher! Ok where are we going now…. Oh yeah, Indian Valley Va. To visit with more close friends ( man we are blessed with many wonderful people in our life ) Johhny and Linda Franklin at their farm/B&B Heavens Holler for some rest and relax and good soul time with friends…. Always a great hang! Lets see… Umm, oh, Ashland Tea And Coffee was the next stop, where our friend Stewart showed up (yay Stewart!) and a long time no see friend from my Twilley days Patty Ferry came down to see me. That was very special and heart warming. We spent a portion of our youth together, as Twilley Band girlfriends and in Patty’s case a whole wife as Mrs Phil Seymore! It was so great to see you again Patty! Ok time for some shut eye and then off to Durham NC for a house concert at childhood buddy Jennifer Snyder’s house. We met when I was on tour with the Cowsills. ! She helped me talk my mom into letting me get a kitten when I got off tour so she was top of my list that summer! Thanks for the much needed catch up time Universe! Next show was a picnic for a law firm with host Ms. Cindy Craig! We played in a beautiful city park in Carey NC met a few hard core Cowsill friends..(member, no fans) one even got up and did harmonies on Flower Girl… Honorable Mention goes to Joyce! Also had a little family time with the Holsapple crew and surprise friends Robert and Julie Keely! And finally, we made our way to Charlotte for a fun night of theatre with our pals Steven and Christopher who were performing in a play…A spoof on one of our family favorites, Glee! Posting ( hopefully ) pics from that night here on this blog. Next day was our last show and a wonderful way to wind it down with Phil and Joy Gussman and there co host Joe and Doris who’s last name I did not get, at Joe and Doris house for a layed back backyard party. Our pal Paul Sanchez has played for and with these folks before and they had some fun stories to share! Great muffelattas by joe and some amazing deserts by all! My fav was the the coconut & pineapple ” crack” dish ( my name for it, could not stop eating it, an intervention was staged and I am better now)! We played, we laughed we made the baby cry and got to see dear friends Lil’ Milke, Lindsay and Cole, thanks for the help with the sound system T. Mike! A gourmet sandwich made by Phil for Russ and a few more stories and we were on our way! That brings us to the here and now, me and my man driving along the highway headed for home.
Another great adventure coming to a close….. For like, two days till we leave again on another excursion, this time with the Cowsill family band….. Batter up!

It kills me you were right down the road from me when you were in Alpharetta GA! I hope so much I can come see you all singing some time. I found the Cocaine Drain album and was able to download it and every song is so good.

Too wonderful that you’re getting to have so much fun and lots of gigs! I’m a huge fan (in every way) :-)

Dear Ms. Cowsill…just a quick memory from Billys Vancouver days…I played in a band called the Surfdusters, and Billy very kindly let us practice in his basement…he was a most gracious host, and we tried not to practice to late…anyways, I was quite saddened by his passing, and I will always remember him for his kindness in sharing with otherusicians…Cheers!!!
