St. Louis

Hey y’all, it’s Russ and Susan checking in with you from beautiful St. Louis. We’re here with Sam, Jack, and Mary and have been having an absolute blast so far.  And, we’ve only been out for 2 days!  Night before last we played at Rick and Nancy Wood’s house concert to a full house and it was a magical experience.  We performed Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme Covered in Vinyl and then we had the most awesome experience of having Brian Henneman sit in with us for our 2nd set.  Brian of the Bottle Rockets, Wilco, etc..  We used to play gigs with the Bottle Rockets during the Continental Drifter days.  There’s a definite connection and a bond that revisited that brought an air of musical magic to the living room on University Avenue.  We’re now trying to talk Brian into coming to NOLA for a CIV.  Great time was had by all and we thank Rick and Nancy for their hospitality and intuitive nature to think to reconnect us with Brian. So then, next up on our wonderful adventure, we played at Off Broadway, a wonderful venue with a diamond-in-the-rough owner Stephen Pohlman.  We played there last year and were so happy to be asked back.  We had an excellent crowd considering it’s a holiday week.  And once again, Brian sat in with us for another half hour of magic.  We hung out and talked to all our new friends in St. Louis and then loaded up the truck and headed for Beverly.  The hills that is.   Big ol’ Lake St. Louis, a motor boat, tube, friends Chris and Jill, and an excellent meal of Beastly Chicken (named by Nick and Miranda), mashed potatoes, veggies, and bernaise sauce all made by the wonderful and talented Mary Lasseigne and her cooking companion, Susan.   Which brings us up to now.  More details can be experienced through other media outlets on our videos page.  We’ll post those tomorrow morning, as well as some pictures taken today on our day off.  Happy 4th of July weekend everyone!
We love y’all.  Russ and Susan
p.s.
Tomorrow, Susan and Mary’s big adventure tubing on the lake!  Stay tuned.  Say a prayer…

Man! I want to go tubing on a lake! And soon! LOL! (Love the Pacific but it MOVES that just hiinging in a tube doesn’t work well…) It sounds like a wonderful way to spend time on the holiday weekend after a couple rockin’ nights of music! The new website is wonderful and just in time for all of us to express our appreciation for Lighthouse. :)

Everyone I have talked to loved the shows! You made some new fans. I hope you sold some records. Come back anytime! It’s only 11 hours up the river!(I’ll even carry cymbals and the rub board out to the truck again, for you.)

Have a wonderful, productive Summer! Safe travels!
    love, D.

I had a crush on you in ’68 and now, thanks to Taylor’s latest “Wood & Steel” and Pandora radio, I’m in love. Your music is GREAT and I can’t wait to get the CD’s.

    All the best,
    John from western NY
